As predicted, Ekweremadu’s house raided

About two weeks after Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, hinted of plots by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to raid his home, the Nigerian Police
has carried out a search of his Maitama, Abuja official guest house.

The search it was learnt took place on Friday and was carried out by policemen who claimed to be from the Force Headquarters.

The Senator’s Special Adviser, Uche Anichukwu who confirmed the development explained that Ekweremadu was never informed nor was any of his aides before the search was conducted.

He said that the policemen failed to find anything implicating at the guest house located at 10 Ganges Street, Maitama.

Ekweremadu had about two weeks ago alleged that the EFCC was plotting to raid his home and possibly implant something incriminating in his home, which they will use to implicate him of wrong doings.

The EFCC had then said that if there is need to raid the senator’s home that it was going to do that, adding that Ekweremadu has nothing to fear if he had nothing to hide.
